New Fingers

I'm putting in an order for new fingers. All I ask is that they meet these requirements: When you wash them a million times a day-after changing diapers, they will remain as hydrated as a fresh water lake, sanding baseboards will only make them feel silky smooth, and when I caulk for 2 weeks, I will be able to pick up a ten pound weight with my pinky finger.

For now, my fingers are dry, callused, tired...and very happy! Our house is coming and hopefully we will be in within the next 6 weeks. If not then, we refuse to give in to our fingers and feel blue! We have been learning so much and feel beyond grateful to have this opportunity.

The past couple of months I have had this primary song running through my head

I have two little hands, folded snugly and tight.
They are tiny and weak, yet they knew what is right.
During all the long hours till daylight is through,
There is plenty indeed for my two hands to do.

Every time I watch Cameron play with his tiny hands or learn something new, I think of this song and I'm reminded of what a perfect little boy he is. His hands are extra tiny, but they are always trying to do what is right.

One more requirement for my new fingers: They need to be more like Cameron's

  6. I'm sorry that your fingers/hands/bodies are so exhausted and over-worked! If you find a solution for hydrated hands, after a million washes, could you fill me in on the secret? :) Cameron gets cuter every time I see him. Hope that the next 6 weeks prove to be more rewarding than ever!!

  7. How did I miss this update until now? Oh, probably cause I was out of town. But seriously I feel like I check it every couple days. Just cause I don't blog myself....Anyway, I loved this post and the way you think about things. Yes, we should all be a little more like that angel boy. He is so sweet and darling. I can't wait to see your house! I can hardly believe that picture is the same house we toured a few months ago! Good luck finishing it up! I can't wait to see the paneling! Love you guys!

  8. So, I hope that you're not weirded out that I found you. I just found another common friend (Eli and Carolyn) we have and it makes me think that we have too many common friends (Michelle and Kevin) and we are meant to get to know each other better. You're baby is so cute. I can't believe how big he is.
